I am a semi-retired math professor who now spends the majority of my time trying to help people understand the realities of today’s universities.  I taught for over a decade at Washington Univ. in St. Louis, and, I have taught at a small state school. (I have also been fortunate enough to associate and work with some of the country’s outstanding mathematical researchers, though this hasn’t been my professional focus for a long time.)  I have tried to observe and understand why so much of higher education in this country has become deceptive in that students and parents are being misled about the education that is really being delivered.  I hope to discuss and illustrate some of this, and its causes with this blog.  To view my credentials, see the Teaching and Research pages.
