The Atlantic Again. They Point Out That If You Are Big Enough, Who Cares?

That is what I think touting that we have a high percentage of high-performing students implies.  (The link is the same article as the previous post.)  My comment should make all clear.

“Did I read that right?  “…taking more math and science courses…” is evidence of learning?  Then is  “…investing more with Bernie…” evidence of “making more money”?

Ok, I grant the author this:  We, a country with about 300 million, do produce a higher percentage of the world’s high-performing math students (14%) than does Germany (11%) with a population of about 80 million.  But Korea with 50 million produces more than us (16%).

But all is ok.  The new SAT will focus on what high schools focus on, and we will all be smart again – even in math.”
