The Atlantic Publishes Yet Another Misleading Article Equating “Degree” with “Education”

My comment should make it clear that what the confusion is.

“The article talks about “…college-educated information technology workers under age 30…”.  I don’t disagree that there is no shortage of “…college-DEGREED…”  STEM workers under age 30 but the evidence is overwhelming that “college-degreed” does not equal “college-educated”.  Colleges and universities may want us to think that the two are equal, but those of us who have seen the truth up close and personal know that the book “Academically Adrift” is the place to go to see the result of the past 30 years of “students” equal “consumers”, consumers whose “wants” that many institutions cater to are not equal to their “needs” as students.”
